Description
This limited edition 30 year old Lowland single malt was laid down at the Rosebank distillery in 1990, just a few years before the distillery was mothballed in 1993, and bottled in 2020 as part of the ‘Renaissance’ by Ian Macleod Distillers – the company responsible for bringing the ‘King of the Lowlands’ back to life.
Triple distilled and un-chillfiltered with an ABV of 48.6%, this is one of 4350 bottles that has been described as soft and creamy on the nose, with layers of caramel wafer, vanilla and nutmeg. Delicate and crisp on the palate with a wonderful balance of gentle syrup, pear and pleasing oak spice. A lingering finish of candid violets, orange and faint mint.
A standout expression from 2020 that scored a fab 90 points with the WhiskyFun folks and is supplied with a stunning solid oak presentation case.
